I am in second year, studing computers at a good engg. college.
Is it possible to get some kind of computer training from some IT company (like they provide when they take freshers), and side by side continue college. I dont want any salary, just experience.
I have ZERO experience….I know a little bit of C/C++. And while toying with it I made a small pinball game. (just the basic mechanism)
Please suggest some ways of getting practical experience in programming.
I learned most of my programming from school and books. If you want real world experience, then apply for internships. They could be paid or unpaid. The better ones will pay you though.
It seems like you are REALLY new to programming though, so I’m not sure how much you will learn on the job. But even if you just learn a little, the experience is a plus on your resume. If a company does give you training, it will be just like taking a college course but 10 times faster.
Anyways, bottom line, the best way to go is to get an internship. It helps your resume, your networking, and your experience.
It will be better if it is situated around Uttara or Dhaka city.It will also be good if they offer certificates and that this certificates are recognised internationally.Above all,the price and duration of the training should be moderate.THANKS TO ALL
why are you asking a question about computer training in the Special Ed category???
a) I would only seek computer software training if my employer offered them to me for free. They could take place during or after normal business hours.
b) If I could find an affordable computer software training class, where I could get “hands-on” training, I would definitely do it.
c) I really don’t feel that I need to take a computer software training class. I know everything that I need to know in order to do my job.
A and/or B. There is always room for improvement.
I am a new stay-at-home-dad after leaving the teaching profession. I was an elementary school teacher who realized it was time for a change. My wife is also a teacher who makes more than I did. While I am home with my sixteen-month-old daughter, I want to pursue computer training at night so I can provide better for my family. I have read many posts that say to find your passion and a related job, but after much soul-searching, I don’ t have any big passions other than being passionate about wanting to be a good provider. I do spend a lot of time in front of the computer, have created several simple web pages, and was always a "go to" person at school when people needed help with computers. I have one friend who is a Systems Analyst with security clearance. He likes what he does but says that it may be easier for me to learn Oracle and become a dba. I also wonder about programming. I’ll be 35 this month. I live in the Chicago suburbs. Thanks for any advice.
I forgot to add that I would cease staying home once I got the training and a job.
I pasted a link to a "Oracle Job" site which explains what you need to get the job. You may get an idea if you would be this kind of person, some need rotating hours or travel and with you being a stay at home dad, that doesn’t fit your priorities.
I think learning html may be good in your case because you already have a nack for creating your own web pages.
HTML uses alot of data codes if you like that sort of thing.
I need computer based training program in Electrical Theory. I expect a program which teach me electrical theory through animations, so that I get my concepts very clear.
Go for Edurite software.

I’m looking to re-enter the information technology field and would like to get training for the COMP TIA A+ and Network + certificates and eventually network admin cert. Where would be a good place to get training for this in the Boston area (either north shore or south shore)? I don’t want to spend a lot of money on this so I do want to keep cost in mind.
If you want a career in IT a short training won’t work you will need to attend a 4 year university. Otherwise you won’t get a job because everyone else interviewing will already have a 4 year.
Does anyone know any schools in London providing Computer Training in a short time but accredited and certified. You know, the main programs in order to get an office Job as a Receptionist, Data Entry.
Secretary training as well in a short term?
I know my way around a computer but need to update and refresh my skills.
Nothing online, I prefer being at the class itself and interact. I know there are many schools not acredited by the Education Department…I do not need that, it has to be an acredited school.
Thanks!!
Do a CLAIT or ECDL Course at your local college.
I did a CLAIT Course, it cost me £30 for 100 hours of classroom time. There was a teacher on hand at all time, the students could work through the material at their pace.
For the first CLAIT you have to show that you can switch a computer on and off, and do ‘basic’ things in 3 software packages – I choose Word, Excel and Access (Databases). There are 3 CLAIT Courses – Begineers, Intermediate and Advanced. There are 2 ECDL Courses.
At the end you walk away with a certificate from the OCR RSA Examiners.

I noticed that you are referring to Computer Training Center at computer-training-center.org. That’s the one that I started with about two months ago.
All I can say is that I found their training materials very easy to follow. Just to let you know, I have definitely fallen for some scams in my time. But I have already made about $4000 back, just working part time. It’s not a fortune, but it has definitely made my life easier.
